Lonely Night In San Francisco

By Sonny Black

As I walked down the pier, I felt a cool summer breeze.

When I felt the fresh air, It made me feel at ease.

As I looked in the distance and saw Coit Tower,

I thought of, and yearned for you by the hour.

I thought of you, your laugh, your beautiful smile,

I couldn’t wait to get back to you in Texas in a while.

The moonlight made me think of the beautiful nights we’ve shared,

Oh, how being without you makes me scared.

Until I return, sleep well my sweet Black princess,

For I take comfort in knowing that I can settle for you, nothing less.
