How Much Do You Really Know? In her book Women Who Love Sex, Gina Ogden reports that 6.4 percent of highly sexed women who took part in her study could reach orgasm without any physical contact. How did they do this? By literally thinking about it-further proof of the power of the mind-so let's get to daydreaming! -The Kinsey Report tells us that a 20-year-old man takes two to three minutes after penetration to ejaculate whereas a woman of the same age takes 15 to 20 minutes to achieve total arousal. -Twenty minutes of passionate sex can burn up to as many as 200 calories while even tennis only uses 140 -Seventy-five percent of women require clitoral stimulation in order to achieve orgasm. -Although we read it a lot, his size really shouldn't matter as Julia Cole, a psychosexual therapist explains, "a two-inch penis would be sexually satisfying for 99 percent of women. We're supplied with the greatest number of nerve endings at the entrance to the vagina. This is called the orgasmic platform. If you were to design the ideal penis it would be short and thick like a doorknob." -It's not only men who have wet dreams. Up to 40 percent of women have what are politely known as "nocturnal orgasms". -Men have (on average) five erections per night-what a waste! -In Hollywood, movie executives are reviving the ancient Chinese practice of semen retention in order to preserve their energy. The theory is that, as the average tablespoonful of semen contains the nutritional equivalent of two pieces of steak, 10 eggs, 6 oranges and 2 lemons, each time men orgasm, they are losing a great deal of their vitality. Sadly, in the current harsh economic climate, these men think that their energy should best be preserved for the workplace. Let's hope it doesn't catch on here! -Check your diary for the next full moon-women are said to be 30 percent more sexually active during this time than at any other. -Orgasmic reconditioning is a form of treatment designed to help people with unusual masturbation fixations.
